Operate at the edge of your competence

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.

Leap Challenge this week:

  • How far out of your comfort zone are you stepping? Could you step just a little farther?
  • What would be possible if you just took the step without knowing where you’d land? Just one step?

Two weeks ago, I attended an inspiring event: 5 powerful women CEOs in a panel discussion revealing their experiences, ups and downs as startup founders and leaders. I have to say, I was impressed, inspired, and also encouraged.

These women built their dreams by pushing their edges.

And each of us can do that. Pushing out of our comfort zone builds new muscles of competence, confidence, and readiness to take on the next challenge.

We can each do that…

They had lots of small details to impart as advice, but their being there and having started with almost no experience leading, managing, getting funding, growing a business was the most powerful contribution they made to the audience of almost all women eager to hear every word.

Carpe diem — and grow with it.
