WomenLaunch is a collaboration designed to encourage and mentor collaboration.  And here’s the team that makes all of that possible.

Kathryn A. GorgesKathryn Gorges, WomenLaunch

Kathryn is passionate about the potential for WomenLaunch to make a difference for both women wanting to create startups and the startup world.  She has been one woman among many men in the high tech business world for many years and is excited about helping facilitate a different dynamic.

Kathryn brings over 17 years of experience in high tech marketing and sales to her marketing consulting business with businesses in the Silicon Valley area.

She has spoken at conferences, workshops, meetings, and corporations on topics ranging from the future of marketing and social media to the application of high availability systems in the financial industry.  She is an instructor for UC Berkeley teaching Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners, a required course in the Entrepreneurship Certificate Program at Extension in San Francisco.

She has held marketing and sales leadership positions at IBM, Amdahl, Stratus, and Tandem and has served in executive roles on non-profit boards and community organizations.  She has a Masters in Philosophy from Stanford University, a BS in Mathematics from William and Mary, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

“Women have the power to bring business to a new level of collaboration, innovation, and contribution to the quality of life in our families, communities, and friendships in ways our traditional male-dominated business world has never been able to achieve.”

Kylie M. Grenier

Kylie Grenier, WomenLaunch

As a technology leader, catalyst, and practical innovator; Kylie is thrilled to be co-founding WomenLaunch with Kathryn.   Her inspiration for this quest is the belief that women want to invest time and money in other women, and that mid-career women with experience and a successful track record in the business world are a great investment!

In her role as co-founder, Kylie is focused on creating a minimum viable product that will support women entrepreneurs through in-person pitch events, relevant event programming, and timely website content.  WomenLaunch strives to provide a deeper dive into start up topics because its audience is the seasoned professional rather than the recent college graduate or wunderkind.

Kylie has held a number of IT leadership positions in both the public and private sectors.  Over the past 10 years, she focused primarily on strategic planning, business relevance, and program management moving her organizations forward on the technology wave.  She has also served as an advisor to a virtual lobby attendant start up.  Her passions include:  connecting people across networks, continuous improvement, and wellness & fitness.

“I believe that mid-career women have novel, unique business ideas with both meaning and significance.  It’s time to found an organization to support their success.”
